Lucile Shepherd

| June 20, 2012 8:01 AM

Lucile Bonita Parker Shepherd passed away May 25, 2012 in Augusta, Ga.

She was born March 28, 1929, in Spokane, Wash., to Esther and Joseph Parker. Lucile was a long-time resident of the Flathead Valley before moving to Augusta, Ga., in 2011.

Lucile was known for her strength and determination as well as her can-do attitude. She was a source of support and love for her family and friends.

She was an excellent seamstress and upholsterer, many times sewing without even a pattern. She also had a beautiful singing voice and a love of music. Many have warm memories of her singing musicals and kingdom songs. This love of music she passed on to her children and grandchildren.

Lucile was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in November 1954 in a little town outside of Springfield, Mo. She had great love for her God, Jehovah, and was known for her faithful worship of him. This faith in her God helped her to endure the sudden and devastating loss of her daughter Ramona Bauer and great grandchildren Jade Ulrich and Jeremy Dodge-Sanders in 2010.

She had faith in the Bible’s promises found at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:3-4 that she would see her loved ones again in the promised resurrection. This hope also brought her comfort in the days before her death. She proved herself faithful to the end. She looked forward to the time when she would be young and happy, in God’s coming kingdom.

Those who knew Lucile well enjoyed her sense of humor, her helping spirit, the strong love she displayed to her family and friends, and her fine example of faithfulness. The greatest gift Lucile gave to her family was a never-ending gift, the love of our creator, Jehovah God.

Lucile was preceded in death by her daughter Ramona Bauer; grandson Shannon Bauer; great grandchildren Jeremy Dodge-Sanders and Jade Ulrich; sisters Georgia Parker, Esther Leis and Nettie Pharr; and brother Clyde Parker.

She is survived by son Leonard Shepherd and wife Sandy, of Hamilton; daughter Irene Crow, of Augusta, Ga.; grandchildren Isaac Shepherd and wife Stephanie and daughter Caitlyn, of Boulder Creek, Calif., Cameron Shepherd and wife Michelle and daughter Maddilyn, of Anchorage, Alaska, Amber Larson and husband Dayne and children Bailey and Chloe, of Anacortes, Wash., Bryce Shepherd, of San Jose, Calif., Elizabeth Shepherd, of Baton Rouge, La., Sean Shepherd, of Hamilton, Lisa Ayidomihou and husband Charly and daughter Katie and grand daughter Bella, of Columbia Falls, Danielle Sanders and husband Jeff and children Coltin, Furious and Peyton, of Kalispell, Chad Bauer and wife Joanna and children Jordan and Dylan, of Kalispell, Marcia Crow and children Alixandra, Kassandra and T.J., of Augusta, Ga., and Cody Crow and wife Brittney and children Kieara, Kale and Keltie, of Gillette, WY.
