Five inducted to high school hall of fame
Five members of the Columbia Falls High School Class of 2012 were recently inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame.
• Jinise Osborne, a three-time all conference cross-country runner and two-time all-state runner, is the 2012 co-Tom Dumay Award winner. She holds the school’s all-time record and has the junior and senior class records.
In track, Osborne is a four-time all-conference honoree in the 3,200 meters, in which she was the Northwestern A divisional champion this spring. She was all-conference for three years in the 1,600 meters and was all-state in both the 3,200 and 1,600 this spring.
Osborne was also a 10-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All State recipient.
• Derrick Williams is a seven-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All-State recipient and is the 2012 co-Tom Dumay Award winner. He holds the school record in both the 3,200 at 9:38.42 and the 1,600 at 4:18.63.
Williams has won six track state championships — the 800 meters twice, the 1,600 twice, the 3,200 once and was a member of the winning 1,600 relay team. He’s been state runner-up three times.
In cross country, Williams was the state champion last fall and was runner-up as a junior. He won the conference championship both years. He was team MVP twice and was also a member of the Columbia Falls 2010 state championship team.
• Austin Barth’s accomplishments include 10 total varsity letters during his high school career.
He was named all-state linebacker twice for the Wildcat football team, and twice was on the second team all-conference as quarterback. Barth was the 2011 team MVP, won the Sapa Award in 2011 and was selected to the 2012 East-West Shrine Game.
Barth was named all-conference in track in 2010 and 2011.
His basketball honors include two all-state selections and two state tournament team selections. He was on the first team all-conference three times and was the conference MVP in 2012. Barth was also a member of Columbia Falls 2011 state championship team.
• Parker Johnson is a 10-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All-State winner. He was a two-sport athlete last fall, playing both football and golf.
Captain of the 2012 basketball team, Johnson’s honors in that sport include all-state and first team all-conference in 2012. He was named to the state tournament team in 2012. He also received the Playmaker Award for 2011 and 2012, as well as the Senior Wildcat Award in 2012.
Johnson made all-conference in tennis three times and all-state once. He was the team MVP this spring. In football, he was an all-conference second team wide receiver and strong safety in 2011. He was a three-time all-conference selection in golf and was all-state last fall.
• Daniel Jones is a four-year letter winner and won three state championships for the Wildcat track team.
Jones took first place in both the javelin and shot put this spring and was a member of the winning 1,600-meter relay team in 2011. He was also a member of the Wildcat 2011 state championship team.
He was all-conference in discus four times and divisional champion three times. In the shot put, Jones was all conference three times. He was all-conference and divisional champion in javelin once, and holds the school and divisional record in javelin at 202 feet, 6 inches.
Jones won three letters as a member of the Wildcat football team and was a three-time Montana Coaches Association Academic All-State recipient.
