The first month of racing is underway at Montana Raceway Park and some great point battles will take place Saturday evening.

This weekend also will be one of two opportunities for kids to get a ride in a stock car. At half time kids will be allowed to come onto the track and ride with the drivers in their cars.

The Bandoleros will make their second showing of the season on Saturday. Brock and Bryce Denney dominated the first race of the season, and they’ll be back along with rookies Trystian Nelson and Isiah Sickler.

In the Legend division, Dalton Halden leads the point count, but veteran driver Tyler Corpron is looking to challenge for the lead. The Legend drivers will be gearing up for their National Qualifying event on June 30.

In the Bomber division, Chris Warburton had some bad luck last weekend but currently leads the division by one point over Bill McCallum and four points over Josh Norris who sits in second.

Fourteen drivers have tried their hand at the Don K Hobby Stocks this season. Veteran driver Ed Linn leads the chase in the division coming into the weekend. This season, Ed and his son Cole built cars to compete against each other.

The Super Stocks should provide a wide open battle as Brandon Sickler looks to protect his point lead. Bruce Stinger and division rookie Tyler Corpron are right behind him. Scott Lee will make his return to the Lucas Oil Super Stocks after selling his car this winte and then purchased a car with Kalispell Toyota Super Late Model driver Bodie Morton.

Saturday night’s events start at 6 p.m. with time trials and racing starting at 7 p.m. For more information, visit online at montanaracewypark.com or call 406-257-7223.
