Swim team takes 2nd in Chester
The Columbia Falls swim team showed some nice improvement over the weekend as they swam in Chester on July 7-8.
The Wildcats took second to Conrad in a tight meet. Qynn Ingraham was named the team’s “biggest loser,” meaning he shaved the most seconds off his previous times. Ingraham dropped 36.53 seconds in the 100-meter backstroke. Madeline Swaney dropped 0.6 of a second off her time in the 50 backstroke.
Zayne Friar and Colton Babcock continued their weekly dominance in the 11-12 boys division by crushing another four pool records. Babcock tied for high-point honors in his age class. Friar was third.
Babcock took first in the 200 intermediate medley, the 200 breaststroke and the 200 backstroke. Friar was first in the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly. Together, the two racked up 82 points for the team.
The swim team travels to Fort Benton this weekend.
