Evelyn Lundstrom

Evelyn Marie Lundstrom, 92, passed away Jan. 3, 2012, of natural causes at Whitefish Care and Rehabilitation Center in Whitefish.

Evelyn was born May 2, 1919, to Frank J. and Marie Snider in Amidon, N.D. Evelyn’s childhood years were in North Dakota before moving with her family to Malta, where she met her husband Frank Lundstrom.

They were married in 1943 in Havre. They had three children in Malta, and several years later they moved to Columbia Falls where three more children were born.

Evelyn raised and educated her six children until they were grown. She then worked for Glacier Bank in Columbia Falls for 21 years. Evelyn was respected and admired for her work ethic and honesty.

Evelyn enjoyed baking breads and cinnamon rolls for her children and grandchildren. There was never a time that one couldn’t walk into her house without the smell of fresh bread. She also had a passion for making blankets for her family.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Frank; sister and brother-in-law Ethel and Robert Wilz; mother and father Frank J. and Marie Snider; granddaughter Kimberly Lundstrom; and great grandson Ayden Davies.

She is survived by her six children, Judy Schroeder and husband Ervin, of Columbia Falls, Franklin Lundstrom and wife Jean, of Silverdale, Wash., Richard Lundstrom and wife Sandy, of Columbia Falls, Lois Pfeiffer and husband Steve, of Alliance, Neb., Leah Kvamme, of Columbia Falls, and Lori Lundstrom, of Columbia Falls; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Evelyn’s family would like to extend a huge thank you to Whitefish Care and Rehabilitation Center for the love, care and kindness they gave Evelyn in the six years she lived there.

A celebration of Evelyn’s life will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Columbia Falls, on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at Marantette Park, in Columbia Falls.
