Speech team takes 3rd, moves on to state

Whitefish speaker Emily Morison led the

Bulldogs by bringing home the first place divisional medal in

humorous oral interpretation last weekend in Columbia Falls.

The speech and debate team earned third

place in sweepstakes points at the Northwest A Divisional

Tournament. Columbia Falls took first with 206 points, followed by

Polson with 72 points and Whitefish had 62.

Morison also earned second place in

original oratory.

Thomas Henson and Madison Grady were

awarded second in policy debate while Sean Taylor and Jordan Reese

were finalists in the same category.

Elsa Dodds placed third in

Lincoln-Douglas debate. Sloan Ellis was third in humorous oral

interpretation and fifth in impromptu speaking. Sage Jackson was a

finalist in humorous oral interpretation.

Hania Koziol placed fifth in expository

and Kolton Mohn was a finalist in serious oral interpretation.

  

“With finals week behind them the

Bulldogs who qualified can now focus on preparing for the state

speech meet this coming weekend in Polson,” coach Gary Carmichael

said.
