Mollie Boisen
Mollie P. Hulit Boisen, 87, a lifetime valley resident, passed away of natural causes Jan. 7, 2012, at the Montana Veterans Home, joining the love of her life, Irvin.
Mollie was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Meeker, Colo., and moved to Montana as an infant with her parents Phil and Merle (Darner) Hulit. Following her high school graduation, Mollie started her teaching career, married Irvin and was blessed with three children.
The love of horses and riding prompted her to join the Back Country Horsemen, where she enjoyed helping cook while out in camp and caring for her dog and horse.
Prior to a major stroke in 2007, she was dog sitter and ranch assistant for her eldest granddaughter, Tammy Stringfellow, with whom she lived beside in her own apartment.
Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Jack and Jimmie.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Brownell and husband Dick, of Pendroy, Rose Beranek and husband Tony, of Columbia Falls; one son, Lyle Boisen and wife Lori, of Portland, Ore. Her seven grandchildren, Justin, Rachel, Tammy, Angie, Brenda, Devon, and Amber, will miss her wisdom and advice. Great grandchildren, Anthony, Cameron, Derek, Tessa, and Addison, and great great granddaughter Avalyn were the light of their Nanny's life.. She is also survived by two sisters, Vera Prichard and husband Forrest, and Dixie LaValley and husband Tom; and one brother, Lee Hulit and wife Peg; and many nieces and nephews.
Family burial at Fairview Cemetery in Columbia Falls will be held at a future date.
Memorials may be made to the Montana Veterans Home. The family so appreciates the love and care Mollie received from everyone there.
