Local railroad historian Kevin McCready will present a talk at the Hockaday Museum of Art on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 4:30 p.m. to kick off the C. David Swanson: Sweat & Steel exhibition, which celebrates the men and women who made the railroads run in Montana.

McCready has been researching the history of the Great Northern Railway and Burlington Northern Railroad in Northwestern Montana since his retirement in 2004. He has served as a volunteer and manager at the Stumptown Museum in Whitefish and researches hardcopy archives at the Hungry Horse News and Whitefish Pilot offices.

McCready will present a variety of images and documents from his research findings and share local railroad stories. Attendees are invited to participate in the question and answer portion of the presentation.

The Hockaday Museum of Art is at 302 Second Avenue East, in Kalispell. Admission is free for Hockaday members and $10 for general admission.
