John Lawler

John R. Lawler, 44, died of cancer at his home in Columbia Falls on Dec. 28, 2011.

He worked in the public works departments of Whitefish from 2002 through 2004 and Columbia Falls from 2004 through 2006. Most recently, he owned his own woodworking business, Silver Oak Furniture Crafters. His passion was woodworking.

John was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism where he was Sir Ely, a knight of the Kingdom of Artenisia.

He is survived by his wife Dana Lawler, daughter Samantha Lawler, parents James and Mary Lee Lawler and sister Teri Ann Lawler, all of Columbia Falls.

A celebration of his life took place at the Lawler compound on Trapp Road on Jan. 7, 2012.
