The Bigfork Little Guy Wrestling team went to the USA Wrestling Making A Difference Tournament at Glacier High School on Feb. 25. They had 37 wrestlers compete and 23 of them placed within the top four of their respective brackets.

The tournament had approximately 600 wrestlers competing from all over Montana as well as Washington and Idaho.

The tournament also had a clinic put on by Tyrell Todd, U.S. Men’s World Team Member, three time NCAA National Champion, and high school national champion, who grew up in Bozeman.

He demonstrated some techniques for the kids and talked about goal setting and good sportsmanship. He also took pictures with the kids.

In addition to the tournament awards, the coaches decide each week on the recipient of the Animal Award for the wrestler who goes out and uses all he’s been taught and doesn’t give up and the Viking Award for the wrestler demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship.

Last week the Animal Award went to Alex Paul and the Viking Award went to Tyler Wickwire.
