Billy Mohan

Billy Mohan, 78, of Columbia Falls and Anaconda died of natural causes Dec. 16, 2012.

He was born Aug. 14, 1934, in Anaconda, the son of James and Rosan (Menehan) Mohan. He graduated from Anaconda Central in 1953-54 and served in the Army under Eisenhower and from 1957-1959 and 1962-1963.

Billy was a union sheet metal worker and retired from the Anaconda Company in the early 1960s. He served in Columbia Falls Community Kitchen, delivering groceries, cleaning up, serving and offering to help in every way; hospital ministry at Kalispell Regional Medical Center; and various other nonprofit organizations in Anaconda and Columbia Falls.

He was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Parish, of Columbia Falls, and St. Peter’s Catholic Parish and Holy Family Parish, of Anaconda.

He is survived by his wife Susan “Tina” Gordon; son Shaun Mohan; stepchildren Billy, Linda and Marilyn Chase, and Steve Erikson; sister Rosalie Hyatt, of San Diego; sister/niece Dyan McCormack, of Dade City, Fla.; nephew Jimmy Mohan, of Portland; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and great great nephews; his in-laws who considered him their own; sisters-in-law Franki Ellman and husband Sam, Jeani Ouzts and husband Gene, Marie Brooker and husband Mike, Jolie Fish and husband Lloyd McSloy, and Sharee Norton and husband K.J. “Kenny.”

A Memorial Mass took place at St. Richard’s Catholic Church, in Columbia Falls, on Dec. 19, 2012.
