Harwood, Marcial earn All-State for football
Whitefish seniors Logan Harwood and Shane Marcial have been named to the 2012 Class A All-State offensive football team.
Harwood was one of six wide receivers to make the All-State team. He led the Northwest conference with 896 yards reveiving and averaged more than 15 yards per catch. He scored seven receiving touchdowns.
Harwood was also named to the All-Conference first team as a receiver and All-Conference second team as a free safety.
Marcial was the second leading rusher in the Northwest conference with 813 yards on the ground. He averaged 6.72 yards per carry and 90 yards per game. He scored 80 points to lead the legue.
Marcial was also named to the All-Conference first team as a tailback and to the second team as a linebacker.
Also earning All-Conference first team honors was junior cornerback David Rizzolo.
Second team honors went to linebacker junior Calub Thilmony, senior Jake May at center, senior Wolf Zinke at tackle and freshman quarterback Luke May.
Honorable mentions went to Thilmony at fullback, junior Gage Smith at tackle, junior Sean Foley at wide receiver, Jake May and Zinke at defenseive line, and junior Walter Holliday at strong safety.
