| December 12, 2012 8:29 AM

The Hough family is sad to announce the passing of Carol Elizabeth Howard Hough, a longtime resident of Rochester, Minn., on Nov. 28, 2012.

Carol was born in Helena on May 21, 1937, and grew up in Shelby and Missoula. She met her future husband, Robbin Hough, while attending the University of Montana in Missoula.

After spending several years in Cambridge, Mass., the Hough family moved to Rochester in 1963 when Robbin accepted a professorship at Oakland University.

The most treasured family memories revolve around Carol’s epic dinners at the dining table with friends, faculty and family. She excelled in motherhood, cooking, gardening and entertaining.

She is survived by her three children, Whitney (Hough) and Marc Luckett, Eric and Jeanne Hough, and Tor and Laurie Hough; and seven grandchildren, Maxine and Ana Mai Luckett, Kelsey and Evan Hough, and Sydney, Lauren and Connor Hough.

A memorial will take place at the Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, in Rochester, on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at noon.
