ALERT thanks

It’s not uncommon throughout our fair county to see the red ALERT helicopter in the air rushing someone to medical help. I always lift a prayer when I spy the red bird in the sky. Little did I ever think I’d see the time it would be landing in our front yard.

Awaking recently in the early morning with extreme shortness of breath led to a 911 call. Living in West Glacier, the whirly-bird was their choice for my transfer to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Shortly the roar and dust arrived. Soon we were airborne and in a few brief minutes I was being treated in the emergency room.

How blessed we are to have the high-end medical services we have. From the local first responders, Tracy and Shanon Click, who deftly assessed and administered that oh-so freeing oxygen and who quickly prepared the way for the land coming. Then for the ALERT team, Laurel, Ryan and pilot Joe (thanks for that smooth flight). Not enough words can express the comforting assurance their professionalism and skill invoked in this frightened patient.

And last but astoundingly not least, the astute hospital staff, Dr. Blair, nurse Anne and all attending. Their swift application of knowledge but uniquely personal medical care is what one can only pray for.

God is so good to answer those prayers. These services were and are so greatly appreciated. Thank you. And thanks Shelby and Fred for being there. Caring neighbors are another true blessing.
