Buscaderos to present antique gun show at the Bigfork Museum of Art and History
Guns and gun shows are as much a part of Montana as hunting, lakes and mountains. But the gun show sponsored later this month by the Bigfork Buscaderos, “Guns of the Old West,” is a show of a different caliber.
Presented at the Bigfork Museum of Art and History, the show will have a collection of weapons from the 19th century up to World War I on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m..
Included in the collection will be historically famous guns such as the Sharps long rifle, the Colt Peacemaker and the Gatling machine gun.
The show is different from others in that it is purely an exhibition; no guns will be for sale. Also, members of the Bigfork Buscaderos cowboy-action shooting group will be there to answer questions and describe the details of the weapons, most of which are owned by members of the group.
The show is held alongside the Museum’s own show, “Homesteading and Beyond: A Peek at Rural Montana Life from 1900-1930.”
The Bigfork Community Players will present the play Prairie Heart across the street at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts at 2 p.m.
In addition, a barbershop ensemble, The Men With No Name, will present a short rendition of classic cowboy tunes in barbershop style at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. at the Museum. Admission to the Museum and the gun show is free. Tickets to the play may be purchased at the door.
