Homecoming parade?

It's fall and football season is upon us. Soon it will be homecoming. Flathead, Glacier, Whitefish and Bigfork will all have homecoming parades that involve the whole community in homecoming activities.

Columbia Falls will have ... the game. I can remember in high school that shoving napkins through chicken wire for your class float was a matter of pride, and working on it was a rite of passage and a big deal.

In Columbia Falls, that has so gone by the wayside. What a shame. I truly wish that someone would explain why there is no homecoming parade or any other festivities that involve the community.

It's almost like the loyal and supportive fans of high school sports in Columbia Falls are taken for granted. I wish it weren't so.

So how about it? A homecoming parade this year for the first time in how many years? It would be wonderful to see.
