Shirley Spencer

Shirley Wilhelmina Reiten Spencer, 85, passed away Oct. 13, 2011.

She was born in Great Falls on July 30, 1926, the only child of Hans and Lucy Reiten. She married Joe Spencer on Oct. 15, 1945, in Shelby. They moved to the Columbia Falls area in 1946 when Joe took a job building the Hungry Horse Dam.

Shirley worked in Columbia Falls and coached junior bowling leagues. She spent a lot of time in Glacier National Park and enjoyed camping and picnicking there.

She is survived by sons David, Stephen and wife Peggy, and Bob and wife Cathy; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls on Oct. 15, 2011.
