Tree board needs member

The Columbia Falls City tree board has an opening for a three-year term. Applicants must be citizens of the city or own a business in the city limits. Letters of interest should be submitted by Dec. 2 to City Manager Susan Nicosia, 130 Sixth St. West, Room A, Columbia Falls MT 59912.

Meet the artists

The Glacier National Park Fund will host a Glacier Holiday Showcase at their office on the U.S. 2 strip in Columbia Falls on Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 4-7 p.m. In addition to holiday refreshments and door prizes, well-known local artists will be present with works for sale, including Mark Ogle, Allen Jimmerson, Chris Peterson, Lucia Holt and Jake Bramante. Methodist bazaar Dec. 3

Columbia Falls United Methodist Church, 117 Second Street West, will hold a Joy of Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with crafts, cookie trays, lefse, pasties, 2012 calendars, silent auction items, cinnamon rolls and muffins.

Klothes Kloset store

The Christmas Store at the Klothes Kloset will take place Thursday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

North Valley bake sale

The North Valley Senior Center will hold a craft and baked goods sale Dec. 2 at the center from noon to 8 p.m.

Healthy food for holidays

A class on healthy holiday cooking will be presented at 269 Second Avenue EN, in Columbia Falls, on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m. with demonstrations on appetizers, entrees and special desserts. Recipes will be handed out for all dishes.

Historical Society meets

The Columbia Falls Historical Society meets at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at 401 7th St. West in Columbia Falls.

Free music for the holidays

The Flathead Valley Community Band will perform its free annual Christmas concert at the Red Lion Ball Room, in Kalispell, on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m.

Historical calendars
