Veterans Day assembly on Nov. 10

The National Honor Society of Columbia Falls High School will host the annual Veterans Day assembly in the high school gymnasium on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend. Seating will begin at 10 a.m.

This year's program includes a special presentation honoring three local veterans as well as an opportunity to recognize veterans from the Montana State Veterans Home who are in attendance.

Several local elementary students will read the winning essays they composed for the event. Topics for this year's essay contest are "Tell a story about a veteran you know" and "I want to say thank you to a veteran because..."

Inspirational musical selections will be performed by local band and choir students, and there will be a special vocal performance by the choir director Danae Ekegren.
