Glacier Park campground openings announced
Glacier National Park recently announced campground openings for the summer season. Due to the amount of snow on the east side of the park, some campground opening dates are delayed and could be subject to change if conditions warrant.
• Apgar open with full service May 6 - Oct. 10; primitive camping Oct. 11- Nov. 30; winter camping Dec. 1 - Mar. 31
• Avalanche open June 10 -Sept. 5
• Bowman Lake open May 27 - Sept. 12; primitive camping beginning Sept. 12 weather dependent
• Cut Bank open June 10 - Sept. 5, operated in primitive status all season
• Fish Creek open June 1 - Sept. 5 uses National Recreation Reservation System
• Kintla Lake open May 27 - Sept. 12; primitive camping beginning Sept. 12 weather dependent
• Logging Creek open July 1 - Sept. 26, operated in primitive status all season
• Many Glacier open June 10 - Sept. 19; primitive Sept. 19 - Oct. 31 weather dependent
• Quartz Creek open July 1 - Nov. 28, operated in primitive status all season
• Rising Sun open June 3 - Sept. 12
• Sprague Creek open May 13 - Sept. 12
• St. Mary open year round using National Recreation Reservation System from June 1 - Sept. 5; first come, first serve May 27- May 31 and Sept. 5 - Sept. 19; primitive camping April 1 - May 27 and Sept. 19 - Nov. 30; winter camping Dec. 1 - March 31
• Two Medicine open June 10 - Sept. 19; primitive camping Sept. 19 - Oct. 31 weather dependent
Group campsites are available at Apgar, Many Glacier, St. Mary and Two Medicine campgrounds. Hiker/bicyclist sites are available at Apgar, Avalanche, Fish Creek, Many Glacier, Rising Sun, Sprague Creek, St. Mary and Two Medicine campgrounds.
