The newly created historic walking tour of the Headquarters District in Glacier National Park will be showcased during a brown bag seminar on Friday, May 6, starting at the West Glacier Community Building at noon. The brown bag seminar and walking tour will be presented by students of the Whitefish Independent High School.

The Park’s first self-guided, historic walking tour was designed and created by the students at Whitefish Independent High School and teacher Matt Holloway, with collaboration from the Park’s education specialist Laura Law, Park cultural resource specialist and historical architect Lon Johnson, and Park museum curator Deirdre Shaw. Funding for the project was provided by a grant from the Montana Cultural Trust.

The tour will describe structures and facilities necessary for daily operations of a national park, where the superintendent or chief ranger work and where snowplows hide during the summer. For more information, visit online at www.nps.gov/glac/naturescience/ccrlc.htm.
