Clock exhibit on display at museum

A variety of ticks and tocks will be

heard from the Bigfork Museum of Art and History this month as it

opens “It’s About Time: A Timely Fundraiser.”

For the exhibit, local artists have

been asked to create a clock for display and sale at the

museum.

“These are one-of-a-kind clocks,”

director Marnie Forbis said. “There are no clocks like that

anywhere else in the world.”

The clocks are of all shapes, sizes,

media and designs. All are for sale, with prices listed.

Forbis said the non-profit museum that

runs mostly on membership fees and donation sought to do a

fundraiser in March, and the idea for the clocks seemed like a good

fit.

“We thought it would be a way to blast

off fundraising and our membership drive,” she said. “We strive to

come up with new and exciting ways to raise funds to sustain the

museum.”

Memberships also support ongoing

efforts to keep the museum up and running, Forbis said.

Members receive discounts at the gift

shop and gallery, an annual newsletter and eligibility in the

members-only show.

The show opens with a reception from 5

p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 4, where one of the clocks will be

raffled off. The exhibit will be up through March 26.

The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5

p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
