The Maw Brothers, Wyatt and Jesse, will perform old-time fiddle music at Marantette Park on Thursday, July 21, beginning at 6 p.m. as part of the Columbia Falls Lions Club's summer concert series. Their debut album "Done Gone" features swing and jazz performed with fiddle, guitar and mandolins. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are suggested. In event of rain, the concert will be held at the St. Richard's Catholic Church, on the U.S. 2 strip.

The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help out with its Heritage Days 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Saturday, July 30. The 18th annual Columbia Falls High School Summer Jazz Camp will take place on Monday through Thursday, July 25-28, from 9 a.m. to noon for students entering grades 7-12. The West Glacier Farmers and Artisans Market is held in the village every Friday through Labor Day from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. with live music, local produce, original art, gourmet foods and more.

The county is seeking volunteers to serve on the Flathead County Fire Service Area Advisory Board to represent the Middle Fork Fire Service Area. The term would begin immediately and expire on Dec. 31, 2013. The board advises the county commissioners in the management of Flathead County Fire Service Area. A letter of interest including qualifications should be submitted to Flathead County Commissioners Office, 800 South Main, Kalispell MT 59901 by 5 p.m. July 28. The Flathead County Planning Board will hold a public workshop on July 27 on sand and gravel resources and property rights as they continue updating the county growth policy. To celebrate the Columbia Falls Community Garden's first season in operation, the First Best Place nonprofit organization will hold a family-style dinner from the Palette Cafe at the garden at River's Edge Park on Saturday, Aug. 13, with dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. followed by a concert from 7:30-9 p.m. Cost is $25 per plate, $15 for kids 6-12, free for kids under-6. Laura Law, a Native Plant Society member, will be talk about native plant gardening during the band breaks at the Columbia Falls Farmers Market on Thursday, July 28. She will introduce people to the native plant shade garden at the Discovery Square Center, in Columbia Falls, and host a scavenger hunt suitable for children 10-years-and-older to learn how to identify some of the native plants. She will also talk about inexpensive ways to start a native plant garden at home.

Country singer Dave Stamey will perform at the Gentry River Ranch, on the Flathead River off Columbia Falls Stage Road, on Friday, Aug. 5, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Stamey has worked as a cowboy, mule packer and dude wrangler. The Western Music Association several times has awarded him entertainer or the year, male performer of the year and songwriter of the year. Tickets are $20, which includes wine, beer and prizes.
