The Dave Lawrence Orchestra will perform at Marantette Park on Thursday, July 14, beginning at 6 p.m. as part of the Columbia Falls Lions Club's summer concert series. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are suggested. In event of rain, the concert will be held at the St. Richard's Catholic Church, on the U.S. 2 strip.
Lindsay Becker, from the First Best Place Community Gardens in Columbia Falls, will present information on basic home composting during the Columbia Falls Farmers Market on Thursday, July 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Her presentation will be for beginning gardeners interested in reducing organic waste and will discuss what can or cannot be composted, what to do with a compost pile and how to ensure a pile is decomposing.

Registration has begun for this year's 25th annual Boogie To The Bank road race to be held Saturday, July 30. There will 5K and 10K runs and a 5K walk. Register at Glacier Bank on Nucleus Avenue. Cost is $15, which includes a T-shirt on a first-come first-served basis after July 15.
Teens entering grades 6-12 are invited to participate in a free "visionary collage" workshop at Columbia Falls Discovery Square on Thursday, July 14, from 2-4 p.m. Participants will create personal collages based on their hopes and dreams for the future. All supplies will be provided, and no registration is required. The workshop is part of Flathead County Library System's Teen Summer Reading Program. Chris Downs, a fishery biologist at Glacier National Park, will talk about aquatic invasive species during the Columbia Falls Farmers Market on Thursday, July 21, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Downs will talk about the threat they pose to Park resources and what steps the Park is taking to educate people to prevent their spread.
Brett Kelso, from the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, will speak about teddy bears for traumatized children at the Columbia Falls Women's Connection luncheon at the Tea Kettle Community Hall on Nucleus Avenue on Wednesday, July 20, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Cost $8 per person. Laura Law, a Native Plant Society member, will be talk about native plant gardening during the band breaks at the Columbia Falls Farmers Market on Thursday, July 28. She will introduce people to the native plant shade garden at the Discovery Square Center, in Columbia Falls, and host a scavenger hunt suitable for children 10-years-and-older to learn how to identify some of the native plants. She will also talk about inexpensive ways to start a native plant garden at home.
The Columbia Falls High School Class of 1961 will celebrate their 50th reunion during Heritage Days on July 29-31. The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help out with its Heritage Days 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday, July 29-30. This is the chamber's major fundraiser and has raised more than $3,000. Volunteers are needed to set up the courts and monitor the games. The Wildcat Athletic Endowment Association will hold its annual auction and barbecue behind the Columbia Bar & Grill on Friday, July 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The golf scramble will take place at the Glacier View Golf Course, in West Glacier, on Sunday, July 31, with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. WAEA is raffling off a 2010 Polaris Sportsman ATV.
