Whitefish Mountain Resort’s Freestyle team took advantage of its home turf last weekend as they earned numerous first-place finishes at the Inland Northwest Snowboard Series.

Skiers Ladd Costain, Maggie Voisin and James Heil and snowboarders Hunter Lamoureux and Louis Grisez each won golds.

Sunday’s skiercross and boardercross had 62 competitors on the newly finished course located on the Goat Haunt slope. The freestyle team’s top finishers included skiers Ladd Costain and Parkin Costain and snowboarders Jared Welch, Cole Maxwell and Baylan Connolly.

“The team impressed me this weekend,” freestyle coach TJ Andrews said. “Having a lot of out-of-town riders come to our mountain to compete, it looked like it was going to give our team a run for their money. Once things were up and running, I could tell the kids were fired up to take some podiums, and that’s just what they did. Our freestyle team is killing it this season, and I look forward to seeing the same at our upcoming events.”

The USASA Inland Northwest series has three more competitions scheduled this season — at 49 Degrees North and Mt. Spokane in Washington.
