Imagine this: If you donate $5 today to the Whitefish Education Foundation, your $5 may be worth thousands to our children’s education. How? The High Five campaign has been launched as a community-wide effort asking for a $5 donation from parents, family members, educators, community and business members. The money collected now will go towards our upcoming spring 2011 teacher and classroom grants.

We know these continue to be “lean” financial times for many people, but by pulling together, we continue to make big differences in our children’s education. Since March 2007, your contributions have awarded more than $56,000 directly into Whitefish School District classrooms and educational programs. For the 2009-2010 school year, the Whitefish Education Foundation awarded more than $23,000.

In April 2010, funds were award to: WHS biology and AP biology - $1,290; outdoor garden classroom, $4,000; WHS literary journals, $3,000; WHS art easels, $500; library furniture, $400; MS library, $200; WMS classroom speaker system, $300; Muldown handheld computer system, $800; My Access teacher training, $5,000; WHS drama, $2,500.

In November 2010 funds were awarded to: Muldown special education books for autistic students, $500; WHS student assistance program, $1,600; WMS student assistance program, $800; WMS library MP3 audio books, $500; WMS art kiln, $1,500.

Parents and guardians and community members may drop off their $5 to the individual school office areas in the High Five Education Foundation Bucket or mail to Whitefish Education Foundation, P.O. Box 1417, Whitefish MT 59937. You can also donate or get more information online at www.wfef.org.

And one more thing that would be extremely helpful, please pass this important message on to relatives, friends, co-workers and neighbors.

We appreciate your supporting our students and teachers in Whitefish. Your $5 contribution will continue to make a positive impact on the education of our Whitefish students.
