Propelled by their best offensive

performance all year, the Whitefish Lady Bulldogs basketball squad

picked up their first conference win of the season with a 36-31

victory at Ronan.

The win also snapped the ‘Dogs 10-game

losing streak.

“As hard as these girls have worked all

season, it’s nice for them to be rewarded with a win,” Whitefish

coach Sean Duff said.

Led by senior Olivia Curtiss’ nine

points, White-fish’s 36 total points against Ronan on Thursday was

the most they’ve posted this season. Olivia Nagler chipped in the

seven points while Jessica Poe added six.

“I told the girls before the game, ‘35

points gets us a win,’” Duff said. “We got 36.”

In all, six different Lady Bulldogs

made their mark on the score sheet.

Ronan played Whitefish close through

the first three quarters, but a big 13-point fourth quarter and

solid free throw shooting gave the ‘Dogs enough breathing room down

the stretch.

On Saturday at Libby, Whitefish was

limited offensively as the Lady Loggers ran away with a 44-15

conference victory.

Nagler had four points to lead

Whitefish, and Ashley Millard and Ashlee Brewer chipped in with

three points apiece.

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Frenchtown

on Saturday.
