Playing nine-on-nine, the Columbia Falls girls soccer team hammered Stillwater Christian School 11-0 at home last Saturday, Aug. 27.

The Wildkats out shot Stillwater 26-3. Danielle Delventhal led all scorers with four, Melissa Livingston had two, McKenzie Kiser one, freshman Haley Purdy scored two goals in her first varsity appearance, and Cortney White knocked in a score. Stillwater only had one substitute, while every Wildkat that was eligible played.

Coach Greg Trenerry said he was pleased with the effort.

"When we switched (personnel), it didn't change the team much, which is good," he said. "It was good for the first game. They played with composure."

He also commended Stillwater.

"They never gave up with just nine players," he said. "You've got to give them credit."

The girls play Bigfork on Tuesday after presstime and then face Livingston and Belgrade at home this Friday and Saturday respectively. The Livingston game starts at 4 p.m. Belgrade starts at 11 a.m.
