Chili feed

A chili-feed fundraiser will be held at the Teakettle Room in the Columbia Falls Community Center on Nucleus Avenue on Friday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. to help Marshall York defray medical and funeral expenses for his deceased wife, Nancy York.

Raffle items include Flathead Mine memorabilia, jewelry, dinners, picture frames, gift certificates and a gold nugget. Cost is $6. Children under 12 eat for half price. For more information, call 892-3722 or 261-9326.

Free meals

The Columbia Falls Community Kitchen in the basement of St. Richard's Catholic Church will offer a free meal on Sunday through Wednesday, Aug. 29-31, at 6 p.m. The kitchen helps the needy in the community by feeding 200 to 250 people a month, depending on the time of the year.

Market music

Columbia Falls students at The Violin Studio, ranging from 6 to 14 years old, will perform several fiddle tunes at the Columbia Falls Farmers Market on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m.

Michael Sporre, their music instructor, will be on hand to answer questions and talk about lessons. For more information, call 862-1070.

Advisory

committee

Applicants are needed to fill three slots on Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks' Region 1 Citizen Advisory Committee. The 12-member general advisory committee is in its 16th year and was established to provide input and guidance to FWP from the public.

Meetings are held about six times per year. Major issues and programs in the past have included boating rules, lake management, big-game seasons, winter feeding of deer, bear management, predator management, hunting heritage and hunter education.

High school class times

High school class schedules will be available for pick up as follows - seniors, Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; juniors, Thursday, Aug. 25, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; sophomores, Friday Aug. 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and freshman, available at orientation on Aug. 26, at 6 p.m.

Booster Club fundraiser

The Columbia Falls Booster Club will host its Blue & White barbecue fundraiser on Thursday, Aug. 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the high school gym. The public is invited to attend this annual event.

Book sale

The Columbia Falls Library Association will hold a book sale at 490-12th Avenue WN on Friday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Columbia Falls library.
