The Lady Bulldogs volleyball squad showed its tenacity in Ronan last week when it bounced back from a one-game deficit to rattle off three wins in a row and take their first conference match of the season.

Madison Tveidt poured out 14 kills to lead the Lady Bulldogs, while Heather Bailey tallied 13 of the team's 53 digs.

"As a team, I'm excited they handled the adversity and stayed in there," Whitefish coach Jackie Fuller said. "We struggled on the service line, but we overcame that by sticking together and fighting until the end."

The victory improved White-fish's conference record to 1-1.

"I really like where we're at, and we're getting better every day," Fuller said. "Our strength comes in our unity."

At Ronan, the girls had 44 kills and seven blocks, two of which came from Baylee Tveidt. Senior setter Olvia Nagler chipped in with 28 assists.

Whitefish gets a heavy dose of conference play in the next two weeks as they travel to rival Columbia Falls today and then host Libby, Ronan and Columbia Falls to start October.

The coach said the team will look to seniors Bailey and Tveidt as leaders in the upcoming matches.

"We'll be relying on them to get things done for us," Fuller said. "I have a lot of faith in our setters, too."

The match at Columbia Falls is slated for 7 p.m.
