I am supporting my friend and vice-president of my company, Derek Skees, Republican candidate for House District 4 in Whitefish.

Like many, I have spent most of my life working on my business, my family and just living the dream, and have not taken an active role in politics other than small contributions and voting. I have lived in Montana my entire life and spent 23 years in Helena doing business with almost every state and federal government agency, and watching state government in action, I can tell you they do not always have your best interest at heart.

I have heard the same rhetoric about creating good Montana jobs from politicians for as long as I can remember, but every year there is another tax, fee or regulation that makes job creation more difficult, and creates added costs that have to be absorbed or passed on to our customers.

When Derek approached me last year asking for my personal and company support in his run for the house, I immediately got behind him because I believe we need representation from people who have been outside of government, not lobbyists and established politicians.

He is a student of history, knows the U.S. and Montana state constitutions, loves God and country, and believes in individual liberties and responsibilities, all traits that I admire and respect.

Derek has worked with me for the past five years, and I can assure you that he has the energy, work ethic, core values and principles we need to get the private sector (where jobs really come from) going again.
