In September Bigfork got a new look and logo meant to brand the community and spruce up its image.

The Bigfork Eagle is following suit this month. Starting this week, you’ll notice some changes both in print and online.

The most obvious is probably what you see on the front page and our home page. The Bigfork Eagle logo has undergone a revamp. We’ve gone back to the basics by eliminating some elements but keeping the same base and eagle image. We’ve also changed our color from red to blue in a move we thought better reflected the natural color of the community we serve.

These alterations to our appearance best represent the goal we had with our new look — to improve upon what we have without changing what you’ve come to expect from the Eagle.

Throughout the print edition, you’ll start noticing some other minor design changes, including the font and line style of our section heads (like the Opinion above) and other standing features. These changes are meant to bring more cohesion and consistency in the look of the paper.

Our website, www.bigforkeagle.com, has undergone the biggest transformation. We’ve completed a major overhaul of our website to make it easier for you to find the content you know and love. We’ve also added some features like video, most popular listings and additional photo galleries. We’ve even made it easier to keep up with the Eagle online. You can now find us on both Facebook and Twitter.

It’s important to note that with these design changes,  our commitment to providing quality coverage of and for the Bigfork community has remained unchanged. In this week’s edition, you’ll still find the kind of news and sports stories you’re used to reading in the Eagle, and on our website, you’ll continue to see news updates, features and results from recent games throughout the week.

We welcome your input on our new look. Let us know your thoughts by e-mailing editor@bigforkeagle.com.
