Bulldogs fall short at Polson

Polson rolled over White fish in a 47-12 conference win on Friday, as the top-rated Pirates put up three touchdowns in the first quarter. They out scored the Bulldogs 33-0 in the first half alone.

Whitefish senior Jeremy Nielsen garnered 97 yards rushing on 12 carries to lead Whitefish on the ground. He punched in a 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to get the ‘Dogs on the board. The senior has tallied 541 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

Chris Forrest scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter for the ‘Dogs off a 12-yard pass from Connor Donahue — his sixth TD toss of the season. Donahue leads the conference in passing with 1,373 total yards, an average of 196 a game.

Logan Harwood leads the league in receiving yards with 589 total. Forrest is third in the league, and Gage Vasquez is fourth.

With the loss to Polson, the Bulldogs record falls to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the league. They’ll look to wrap up the season on a high note Friday when they take on rival Columbia Falls.
