Too many cops

To the editor,

I see the police have taken over the city budget with the biggest portion going to them, what a shame to put this burden on taxpayers. Imagine in 10 years what portion will be going to them when they start retiring and our city managers hire to replace them.

I’m not sure how many cops we have in Columbia Falls, but it’s quite apparent that we have too many. The other day my wife picked up her granddaughter at kindergarten and there was an officer there talking to the 5-year-olds in the classroom. He was telling them the difference between a gun and a Taser. I’m not kidding, a cop was at kindergarten talking about guns and Tasers. After hearing about this I have to say maybe we have a few too many of these guys on the payroll.
