Bruce Beagle
Bruce Gary Beagle, 56, passed away Nov.
14, 2010.
He was born Dec. 24, 1953, in Bend,
Ore., to W.F. Beagle and Hazel Beagle, the fourth of five sons.
The family moved to Whitefish in 1958,
where Bruce attended school through 11th grade, lettering in track
and football. He completed high school in Worland, Wyo., where he
also worked in the oil fields. He earned a technical certification
in mineralogy from Utah Technical College and a technical
certification in sports medicine in Arizona.
Bruce loved to go fishing and camping
with his family, which spent vacations in Canada and surrounding
states. He especially enjoyed packing in the Great Bear Wilderness
to the family hunting camp.
He loved skiing at Big Mountain, and he
guided whitewater rafting on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River
from time to time. He spent a lot of time playing golf with his
brothers and once traveled most of the U.S. with a friend, working
from town to town as a carpenter.
Bruce married Cindy Knoble in
Minneapolis in 1976 and returned to Whitefish, where he opened an
automobile body and paint shop. He also worked for Burlington
Northern Railroad and did construction work. He later met Wendy
Wilson in Arizona. They were married on Oct. 6, 1995.
Bruce is well known for playing the
Easter Bunny for 18 years, delivering 60-70 Easter baskets each
year to elderly at their homes and at nursing homes.
He was preceded in death by his father,
brother Tommy House, stepfather Edward Childers and
grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, in
Whitefish; brothers Sam House and wife Sue, of Columbus, Neb., Dean
House, and Ross Beagle and wife Jana, of Whitefish; and numerous
nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service took place at the
VFW Lounge in Whitefish on Nov. 18, 2010.
