Whitefish girls soccer coach Erin

Morrison announced this week she’s stepping down and moving back to

her hometown of Park City, Utah. She said leaving the team and

Whitefish was one of the hardest decisions of her life.

Morrison led the Lady Bulldogs for two

seasons, helping them earn two trips to the Class A state

tournament. Whitefish finished this season with a 12-3 record after

falling to Billings Central in the title game.

Athletic director Jackie Fuller said

the soccer program will miss Morrison’s presence on the

sideline.

“She was one of the best coaching hires

we’ve ever made,” Fuller said. “She was a great role model and was

fair, firm and consistent. She ran a class act. I’m going to miss

that girl.”

Fuller said she will consult with boys

coach O’Brien Byrd about finding a replacement. Byrd helped Fuller

with recruiting Morrison.

“We have a big gap to fill,” Fuller

said. “I’m going to do my best to find the next Erin Morrison.”

There’s no timeline in place for

finding the next coach, Fuller said, but the school will get to

work with the recruiting process soon.
