Opposes Curry

I'm a lifelong resident of Flathead County and I've never written a letter of this kind until now. I feel strongly enough about the disqualifications of Chuck Curry, candidate for sheriff, that it has compelled me to put pen to paper.

It is of great concern to me that we don't forget about the botched investigation Chuck Curry conducted at the site of the Great Bear Wilderness plane crash in 2004, this same crash, where he declared there were no survivors.

If I had the good fortune to survive a plane crash, I would hope to God that the sheriff/coroner investigating the wreckage could tell whether or not I was dead or alive. This would be important information for my family — the sort of thing you hope an investigator gets right the first time.

As a parent, there is no greater loss in life than the loss of a child. I cannot imagine the anguish of being told my child had been killed. I write the obituary and plan the funeral service only to discover 28 hours later that same child, left for dead, had not only survived but also walked out burned and broken with a second survivor.

The emotional toll alone can never be accounted for. Those poor parents — what they must have gone through. If this is how Chuck Curry conducts investigations he's in charge of, I want no part of him as our sheriff.

Integrity is defined this way: 1) steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code, 2) the state of being unimpaired, soundness, and 3) the quality of condition of being whole or undivided, completeness.

Chuck Curry is not the man he's portraying himself to be. Further, Curry is found to be wanting in the integrity department. I plan on sticking with the guy who's stuck with all of us for the past 3 1/2 years, and that guy is Mike Meehan. Sheriff Meehan will get my vote on June 8.
