More skybridge

I've been reading all the negative comments about the 'skybridge." Sounds pretty awful to me.

Just to let you know, I own a home in Whitefish but live in California, so I pay Whitefish property taxes and have for more than 25 years on my property.

My simple question is, did the city council in all its wisdom ever consider putting two painted white parallel lines onto the pavement and build two poles with a red, orange and green lights attached, along with a push button to make the colored lights change so people could easily and safely walk across the street?

By the way, has anyone ever been hit by a car in that spot which might warrant all this attention?
