Three Bigfork basketball players earn All-State nods
The Vikings and Valkyries basketball teams fared well in the selections for this season's All-Conference and All-State teams.
From the Bigfork boys team, Christian Ker was given All-State and first team All-Conference honors. Travis Knoll and Evan Jordt were both named first team All-Conference. Lael Richmond and Keenan Evans made the second team All-Conference list.
"Your entire starting lineup gets All-Conference — That's amazing," said Paul La Mott, Bigfork High School head boys basketball coach. "It's reflective not only of their hard work, but the way they play as a team. We just had player after player step up time and time again."
From the Valkyries, Mallery Knoll and Caitlin Charlebois were named first team All-Conference and All-State.
"I thought they had really good seasons," said Mark Hansen, Bigfork High School head girls basketball coach. "Mallery was solid all season and I think she was the best player in the league. Caitlin's ability to push the ball helped us score as well as we did."
Quinci Paine and Taylor Peck both made second team All-Conference and Lila Cenis was given a honorable mention.
"I thought we should've had a few girls place higher on the list than we did," Hansen said. "We aren't allowed to vote for our own girls, though. I thought Quinci and Taylor both had good enough season to be first team also, but the voting system doesn't lend itself to that."
