Peaceful Gardens

There is a unique gardening project going on in the Valley that I think more people should know about.

Paul Renner is the primary coordinator, and person in charge of Peaceful Gardens, which features the "Growing Dome," a 51-foot geodesic dome growing space that will produce healthy organic food even in the coldest winter months.

Peaceful Gardens is a community-oriented, year round food self-sufficiency program specializing in growing organic fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible flowers.

Participants are part of a multifaceted program which will provide them with a variety of vegetables for their table, and hands on, ongoing education about the many aspects of growing healthy food. Paul will present an informative program about this project on March 24 at 7 p.m., at the monthly Essential Stuff Project gathering at Clementine's in Bigfork.

This will be an opportunity to learn about this innovative project, and how local community members can become involved.

There is no charge for this gathering. Donations to pay for the facility rental are greatly appreciated.

For more information call Edd Blackler at 837-5196 or Catherine Haug at 837-4577.
