WealthMasters, a two-day finance course based on biblical principles, will be offered by Joe and Linda Coco at New Covenant Fellowship, 436 Birch Grove Road, in Kalispell, on Friday, Jan. 22, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 23, from 9-5 p.m. The course will cover goal setting, budgeting, getting out of debt, super saving and smart shopping. Glacier Institute will present a wildlife course called “Stories in the Snow” on Saturday, Jan. 23. The course will focus on forest carnivores that remain active in winter, such as lynx, fisher, pine marten, mountain lion and wolverine. Students will learn to interpret the tracks, signs and stories these species and their prey leave behind. They will snowshoe 3-4 miles roundtrip into Glacier National Park’s wildlife-rich Middle Fork of the Flathead River area. The course will be led by Brian Baxter, a wildlife researcher and project coordinator for Silver Cloud Associates, a natural resource information company based in Libby. Volunteers are needed to take down the Whitefish city Christmas decorations. The crew will meet at the corner of Central Avenue and Second Street on Sunday, Jan. 24, at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers are asked to dress warm, wear gloves and bring small wire cutters or pliers. The Glacier Nordic Club will hold the Glacier Glide Nordic Ski Race on Sunday, Jan. 24, at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course cross-country skiing track with 1, 5, 10 and 20 kilometer races for individuals of all ages. The club will also hold weekly relay races at the same location through Feb. 23 on Tuesdays starting at 6 p.m. Relay teams will be selected each evening. The U.S. National Telemark Team will hold a fundraiser at the Great Northern Bar and Grill on Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 7-10 p.m. with music by Moonshine Mountain, a silent auction and a raffle. The silent auction will include raft trips, skis, a round of golf at Iron Horse and more. The grand raffle prize will be a day of catskiing for two with Valhalla Adventures.
