State Farm Lyle E. Mitchell Insurance Agency, 1123 9th St. W., will hold an open house Thursday, Jan. 14 from 1:30-4 p.m. Following will be the Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours from 5-7 p.m.

The Flathead Suicide Prevention Coalition will host a parent information meeting Thursday, Jan. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Columbia Falls Junior High School.

Glacier Gateway Elementary will present Missoula Children’s Theater’s “Rumpelstilskin” Saturday, Jan. 16 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the High School Little Theater. Tickets are $5 each, children under 3 free and $20 for families up to six people.

The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest will be held at Columbia Falls Junior High on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 10 to 11 a.m. for boys and girls ages 10 to 14. Winners will advance to district competition. For more information, call Eric Morgan at 249-0236.

Montana Coffee Traders in Whitefish is supporting youth scholarships at Glacier Institute’s Big Creek Outdoor Center on Saturday, Jan. 16 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds from brewed coffee sales will be donated to the Institute that day.

The Columbia Falls Community Choir begins practice on Sunday, Jan. 17 for its 2010 concert. Sign-in and music pick-up is from 1:30-2 p.m. with practice following at 2 p.m. Practices are held Sundays from 2-4 p.m. at Columbia Falls Junior High. There will be no practice on Easter Sunday. The final rehearsal is Friday, April 23 and the concert is Saturday, April 24. For more information, call Ron Bond at 892-5174.

The Columbia Falls Women’s Connection meets Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the North Valley Community Room at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $8 and includes lunch. Elaine Graber will share her 40-year apron collection. Speaker Cathy Benson of Bigfork, a mountain hiking grandma, will tell her story. Free child care is available.
