Bigfork schools closed due to weather

Bigfork schools closed Tuesday, Jan. 5, in light of a snowstorm.

Bigfork High School and Bigfork Middle and Elementary School were closed as well as Swan River School.

The wet, heavy snow accumulated Monday night creating hazardous road conditions in some areas. Approximately 6 to 8 new inches arrived in the Valley, in many places topped with rain. Several power outages were also reported.

A winter storm warning was anticipated to still be in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Flathead Valley, according to the National Weather Service
