Avalanche tally six consecutive wins
The Glacier Avalanche high school
hockey team went on a tear earlier this month, winning six games in
a row to up their overall record to 7-11.
Five of the wins came at the Desert
Classic in Kennewick, Wash., between Dec. 10 and 12.
Glacier started by knocking off the
Spokane Ice 8-3. Five players scored in the game for a well-round
stat sheet. Curtis Jochen and Maxl Smith led with two goals each.
Taylor Hulslander made 25 saves in the net.
The Avs followed with shutout wins over
Tri-Cities and the SAYHA Broncos. They topped the Inland Empire 5-2
to get into the title game. Camp Kenyon tallied a hat trick in the
championship as the Avs cleaned up with a 6-0 win.
Following the successful tourney,
Glacier kept rolling with a 2-0 shutout over Havre. Koler
Kanistanaux scored twice on assists from Steve Olbert and Dave
Rizzolo. Kanistanaux leads the team with 18 goals this season.
Kenyon and Jochen have 15 goals each.
Glacier Avalanche plays in the Missoula
Tourney this weekend as they look to move closer to a winning
record.
