Volunteer work days on the A Trail Runs Through It recreation trail project will take place on Thursday, April 29 (today), and Saturday, May 1. The goal is to complete the spur trail from the Skyles Lake trailhead to the main trail. Whitefish Theatre Company will present “Willy Wonka Jr.” beginning Friday, April 30, at the O’Shaughnessy. Alpine Kids! Theatre Project will present “Sweeney Todd School Edition” at the Whitefish Middle School auditorium on Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1, at 7 p.m. and May 2 at 2 p.m. More than 30 high school students from around the valley participated in the five-week program instructed by ATP artistic director Betsi Morrison and executive director Luke Walrath. “Sweeney Todd” tells the tale of the eponymous barber in Victorian London who exacts revenge on a number of people. The Montana Wilderness Association will hold its annual gathering this year at Grouse Mountain Lodge on Friday and Saturday, April 30 through May 1. Saturday’s activities will include a panel discussion on the convention theme, “Wilderness on our Horizon,” and a keynote address by Trout Unlimited president and CEO Chris Wood.
