I am writing this letter in support of Ruth Harrison, incumbent trustee for the Whitefish School Board. I have had children in the Whitefish school district for 10 years and have been very involved within the schools as a volunteer, as an active member of PTA and on various other school board appointed committees. I have worked directly with Ruth on some of these committees as well as been witness to her involvement at school board meetings.

I have found that Ruth is intelligent, informed and fair. She always listens to all sides of an issue, whether controversial or mundane, and casts her vote after careful deliberation and analysis of how it affects the students, the general population and the district as a whole.

Ruth is an advocate for the students in our district and is very dedicated to their academic futures. From what I have witnessed, she looks at the whole picture and has the ability to consider not only how decisions will affect the school population in the short term, but also what it will mean to the district in the future. She has a firm grasp on operations of the school board and has dedicated her time selflessly to the improvement of our schools as a whole.

In the past, I have had the occasion to call Ruth and talk with her about academic decisions for my own children. She has always been able to present me with educated "food for thought" in all parts of the decision-making process.

In short, I strongly recommend voting for Ruth Harrison as a voice of intelligence and reason for trustee for Whitefish School Board.
