Columbia Falls Baseball Association will hold its annual board of directors elections Thursday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in the F.H. Stoltze Land and Lumber main office. The public is welcome. Anyone with a child playing baseball in Columbia Falls can participate and vote for incoming directors.

The Flathead City-County Health Department will hold a flu shot clinic Oct. 1 (today), from 9 a.m. to noon at the Montana Veterans’ Home. Adult flu shots are $25.

The 12th annual Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce garage sale is Friday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at the former Western Building Center and Army-Navy store, 129 9th St. W. Donated items can be dropped off Wednesday, Sept. 30 and Thursday, Oct. 1 from noon to 6 p.m. Item pick-up is also available. Call Carol Pike at 892-2072 for more information.

The Hungry Horse Fire Department will have its annual budget meeting this Friday at 6 p.m. at the fire hall.

The North Valley Eagles is holding a German dinner Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m., with proceeds going to Human Therapy on Horseback. Jaeger schnitzel, spatzle, sauerkraut, cucumber salad and German chocolate cake will be served. Cost is $10 through Oct. 1 and $12 at the door.

The Columbia Falls High School Booster Club meets Monday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the teachers’ lounge at the high school. The club will be planning a Homecoming tailgate party, which will be held Friday, Oct. 9 when the Wildcats host Polson. Anyone interested in joining the booster club is encouraged to attend.

Rod Cogliati will again be teaching a 10-week Introduction to Metals class. Topics to be covered are gas brazing, welding and cutting as well as stick arc welding, MIG welding and plasma cutting. Aluminum sand casting & safe working techniques will also be covered. The classes will be held at the Columbia Falls Metal Shop from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Oct. 7 and ending Dec. 16.
