Saying thanks

Whitefish Community School would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the following for their exceptional display of thanks giving. Our first, but definitively not last, "Disco for Snow Party Fundraiser" was a smashing hit, and we thank those who gave their time, effort, raffle prizes, creativity and dedication.

Vehicle theft

This is an open letter all the way from New York directed to whoever took the liberty of helping themselves into my brother-in-law's truck and stealing from him.

OK, let me start by saying the gentleman you stole from has already given so much to you, more than you know. He is a Marine Corps veteran 'retired). He spent 20 years giving everything he could. Then you steal from him? You should be ashamed of yourself.

This man and his wife just moved to Whitefish from our area. Is that the kind of welcome and impression you want them to have of your community? I do hope the little bit of money you got helped for whatever reason you stole it.

However, when that is gone and you need more, what's next? Maybe it will be something that gets you caught. Maybe you are someone who needed the items to feed your family for Thanksgiving.

Well, a better solution would have been to visit the food pantry where the man you ripped off volunteers. The ironic part is if my brother-in-law thought you or your kids were hungry, he probably would have given the change you stole. Sometimes you just have to ask for help.

There are good people, unlike you, who give and don't take.

Pay it forward

Fundraising is hard work, and sometimes you can get behind on other things.

Because of a few very special people from the school band program, our firewood was hauled to our front porch so we could concentrate on raising money.

Thanks to Mark McCrady, Madison Apple, Kolter Larsen, Tar Buddhakosa, Courtney Von Lindern, Clayton Collins, Casey Beiser and especially Leslie Collins for the inspiration.
