Wildcat thinclads seventh at Archie Roe Invite

Columbia Falls finished in seventh place in the boys division of the 35th annual Archie Roe Invitational track and field meet on a warm, sunny Saturday at Legends Stadium in Kalispell. Glacier eased to the team title with 108 points in the 19-school meet. Missoula Big Sky was second with 79, followed by Flathead with 64, Whitefish and Missoula Sentinel 42 and Plains 29.

Dean Phillips was the top finisher for C-Falls at the Archie Roe Invitational. He sprinted to third place in the 100 (11.61).

The Wildcats had three place winners in the 800-meter run. Patric Jessat was fourth (2:05.38), Kaleb Johnson fifth (2:05.74) and Shawn Whitman sixth (2:07.35).

C-Falls placed fourth in the 400 relay (44.79) and fourth in the 1,600 relay (3:34.99).

Stephen Baumgartner earned fifth in the 200 (23.54) and tied for sixth with teammate Joel Ballard in the 100 (11.69). Ballard tied for fifth in the pole vault (12-6). Derrick Williams was sixth in the 400 (53.48).

Ketti Wilhelm was the only point scorer for the C-Falls girls at the Archie Roe Invitational. She earned fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 9 feet, 6 inches.

Big Sky ran away with the girls team crown, totaling 126 points. Glacier was runner-up with 82.

MICHAEL KRUSE, Derrick Williams, Joe Gross and Mike Macijunas were event winners for C-Falls at the Ken Good Invitational, a non-scoring meet held May 5 in Whitefish.

Courtney White picked up a win for the C-Falls girls.

Kruse won the 400 (55.22) while Williams was first in the 800 (2:08.39). Gross took top honors in the 1,600 (5:11.13), and Macijunas won the discus (126.10).

C-Falls was strong in the 300 hurdles as Jacob Hader placed second (44.21), Williams third (44.69), Johnson fourth (46.55) and Jessat fifth (46.63).

Three Wildcats placed in the 100, with Jessat finishing second (12.03), Kruse fourth (12.22) and Michael Williams fifth (12.33). Kruse was third in the 200 (24.33) and Whitman came in fifth (25.10). Tim Chopper was fourth in the 400 (59.18) and sixth in the 800 (2:18.39). Anthony Hoelscher was fifth in the 1,600 (5:26.40).

Daniel Jones was second in the discus (126.9), and Macijunas placed fourth in the shot put (38-7 1/2). Justin Livingston was sixth in discus (114-4 1/2) and shot put (37-5). In the high jump, Dionicio Cantu earned second (5-6), Devin Iverson fourth (5-2) and Matt Hensley fifth (4-10). Cantu was third in the triple jump (35-6), Hensley was fifth (34-3) and Mitchell Wassam sixth (34-2).

Trevor Fehrenbach was third in the pole vault (10-0), and Matt Hollo placed fourth (10-0).

The 1,600 relay was a good event for the C-Falls boys, who had squads place second (3:43.14), fourth (4:05.03) and sixth (4:13.18). The Wildcats were second (47.92) and third (48.21) in the 400 relay.

WHITE WON the 800 with a time of 2:45.11 to lead the Wildkat girls at the Whitefish meet. Teammate Cedar Jordt placed third (2:46.34).

Breanna Hopper was second (30-4) and Allie Lampman third (29.8) in the triple jump. Kimberly Johnson placed second in the discus (79-7 1/2), and Makaela Fisher was fifth (71-10). Jessie Gist was third in the high jump (4-5) and fifth in the pole vault (7-0). McKenzie Kiser was third in the long jump (13-6) and fifth in the 100 (14.58). Anna Byrd placed fourth in the pole vault (7-6).

Cami Casazza ran to fourth in the 100 hurdles (19.18) and 300 hurdles (52.50). Nicki Moser was fifth in the 1,600 (6:23.97).

In the 1,600 relay, Wildkat quartets were second (4:31.9) and fifth (4:54.68). C-Falls placed third (56.69) and fourth (59.66) in the 400 relay.
