The Flathead Food Bank and the Trapline Association are starting a community garden in Martin City at the Head Start Center. Come to Head Start’s Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 9 to help out. The Canyon Center of Northwest Montana Head Start serves the communities of Hungry Horse, Martin City, Coram and West Glacier. The Teakettle Quilters Guild holds its monthly meeting Saturday, May 9 at 10:15 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Center, 235 Nucleus Ave. in Columbia Falls. Block of the Month will be presented by Sandy Woods. There will be Show ’N Tell after the business meeting. New members and guests are welcome.

The Columbia Falls Key Club is hosting a March of Dimes walk on Monday, May 11 at the CFHS track. The club has invited elementary schools to join them in collecting a minimum of $10 in pledges and then walking at the track May 11. All participants should gather on the track for a group picture at 9:15 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the March of Dimes organization.

District 3 State Rep. Dee Brown will be the guest speaker at the Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce monthly membership meeting Tuesday, May 12 at the North Valley Hospital Community Center, located at 235 Nucleus Ave. The meeting begins a half hour earlier than usual, starting at 11:30 a.m. Lea Bechtold of the U.S. Forest Service will also speak, and RSVP volunteers will be honored. Cost of the luncheon is $10, including gratuity. Reservations are not needed.
